We are looking for playtesters for an early prototype of a mobile strategy auto-battler inspired by TFT, with some light Mahjong-style mechanics (discarding, and reacting to what others toss away). Note most of the assets are placeholders so the focus is on gameplay and mechanics.

What It Is:

  • Fast-paced strategy: Build a team of pawns and try to outlast your opponents.
  • Auto combat: Units fight automatically at the end of each round.
  • No selling: Every decision counts
  • Discard mechanic: Each turn, one benched unit gets auto-discarded. If others discard what you need, it may help complete your combo (similar to Mahjong).
  • Types & Synergies: Units gain bonuses from shared traits.

Full game Description:

Objective: Outlast your opponents by building the strongest team of pawns. You lose when your player health reaches 0.

Unique features

  • Limited number of characters and decreased availability through the discard mechanic
  • Focus on mobile experience

Game Flow

  • Each turn, you gain 3 gold (resets every turn). Win a fight to earn 4 gold.
  • Spend gold to buy pawns from the shop or reroll the shop for 1 gold.
  • Place pawns on the arena or store them on your bench.
  • Combat happens automatically at the end of each turn.
  • Losing a fight reduces your player health.

Pawn Mechanics

  • Combining: Collect 3 of the same pawn to combine them into a stronger version. 
  • Types & Synergies: Each pawn has one or more types. Multiple pawns of the same type grant bonus stats to your team.
  • Abilities: Some pawns now have unique abilities, adding new strategic options.
  • Discard Pile: At the start of each turn, a pawn from your bench is automatically placed in the discard slot. You can exchange it for another pawn during planning, but at the end of the planning phase, the discarded pawn is gone forever and cannot be bought again. This removes it from play for you but also all other players. You can see all that are discared in the trash list. If another player discards a pawn and you have 2 of the same, it becomes available to complete a combo.
  • No Selling: Pawns cannot be sold.

Economy Rules

  • Gain 3 gold per turn (or 4 gold if you win), which does not carry over.
  • Reroll the shop for 1 gold to refresh available pawns.

Board & Bench

  • Store extra units on your bench without storage penalties for combining.
  • The number of pawns you can place on the board increases over time (leveling system).

Modes

  • Beginner Mode: 1 other team, no timer, Increased health, and limited characters
  • Normal Mode: 3 other teams, added an timer, reduced health, and all characters

Tips

  • Click pawn icons on the left to view type bonuses.
  • Click individual pawns to see their stats, abilities, and info.
  • Experiment with type combinations and abilities for powerful synergies.

Note for Playtesters: This is a WebGL prototype for testing gameplay mechanics. On mobile browsers, you may notice minor issues (e.g., health bar tilting or pawn movement stuttering or missing sounds) due to WebGL limitations. These won’t affect the final native iOS/Android app. Please focus feedback on gameplay, strategy, and overall experience!
